BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Libby Alsemgeest (Fr., Hamilton, New Zealand/St. Cuthbert’s College) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan scored twice and drew an exclusion in a 9-5 loss to No. 4 Arizona State University in the first round of the 2021 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women’s Water Polo Championship at the University of California-Los Angeles on Friday, May 14.  For her performance, she earns recognition as both the May 17 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player and Rookie of the Week.

The 2021 CWPA Division I Championship Rookie of the Tournament. Alsemgeest claims her fourth Rookie of the Week nod following previous accolades on February 22, March 22 and March 29.  Further, she collects her inaugural Player of the Week laurel.
