BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Libby Alsemgeest (Fr., Hamilton, New Zealand/St. Cuthbert’s College) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan racked up 10 goals during a 4-0 league weekend in Pennsylvania to receive status as the March 22 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Rookie of the Week.
She helped the Wolverines down host/No. 22 Bucknell University (16-5 W) and Mount St. Mary’s University (21-1 W) on Saturday, March 20, in Lewisburg prior to aiding the Maize & Blue’s cause in victories over host Saint Francis University (13-5 W) and Mount St. Mary’s (16-2 W) on Sunday, March 21, in Loretto.
The award marks the second Rookie of the Week nod for Alsemgeest who previously earned the accolade one month ago on February 22.
