BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddie O’Reilly (Gr., Villanova, Pa./Episcopal Academy) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan contributed 10 goals and eight assists as the Wolverines finished 4-0 at home during the 2022 Wolverine Invitational. For her efforts, O’Reilly earns status as the March 7 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
She started the weekend on Saturday, March 5, with a pair of goals and assists along with a drawn exclusion in a 17-6 defeat of Iona College. Later in the day, she netted three goals, an assist and a drawn exclusion in a 14-4 defeat of Bucknell University in CWPA league competition.
On Sunday, March 6, she led the Maize & Blue with four goals, two assists and a steal in a 19-1 league defeat of Saint Francis University. In the final game of the weekend versus Salem University, she notched a goal and three assists
The Player of the Week nod marks the seventh in the past three years for O’Reilly who previously claimed recognition on January 27 and March 2 during the COVID-19 abbreviated 2020 season. Last year, she picked up recognition on February 22, March 1, March 22 and March 29.
