BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — University of Michigan rising junior Madeleine “Maddy” Scarth (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada/Huntington Beach (Calif.)) was named to the Team Canada roster for the 2025 World Aquatics Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships on August 10-18 in Salvador, Brazil.

Canada will compete in Group D with South Africa, China and Australia.  The Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and Israel will start competition in Group A, while Hungary, Greece, the United States and Italy play in Group B.  Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Croatia will battle in Group C.

A member of the Canadian Junior National Team which placed second at the 19U Pan-American Championships in 2022. Scarth started her tenure at Michigan by appearing in three games during a redshirt season.  In 2025, she accounted for 14 goals, nine assists, seven steals and won three-of-seven sprint attempts
