BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddy Steere (Sr., Pascoe Vale, Australia/St. Catherine’s School) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan contributed a goal and two assists in a 10-4 loss to No. 3 the University of California at home in Canham Natatorium in 2022 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship quarterfinals competition to garner recognition as the May 9 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
The Player of the Week nod marks the eighth weekly honor of Steere’s intercollegiate career as she previously garnered the January 21, March 18 and May 13 Player of the Week awards in 2019 following a pair of Player of the Week nods in 2018 (January 21, May 14) and a Rookie of the Week laurel (March 20) in 2017. She collected the March 21 Player of the Week accolade earlier this season.
