BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Sophie Jackson (Sr., West Yorkshire, England/The Crossley Heath Grammar School) of No. 7-ranked the University of Michigan helped the Wolverines post a 3-0 record over the weekend.  For her performance, Jackson is named the March 21 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

After not competing during an 11-10 victory over No. 14 Indiana University on Saturday, March 19, at home in Canham Natatorium,  Jackson contributed five saves and three goals allowed in 16 minutes during a 14-5 league defeat of No. 21 Brown University prior to notching four saves and two goals allowed in 16 minutes of an 18-2 conference victory over host Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md.

The award marks the third Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season for Jackson who previously earned recognition on January 24 and January 31 following a prior co-Defensive Player of the Week notice on April 26, 2021,
