BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Emily Shank (Jr., Fullerton, Calif./Rosary) of the University of Notre Dame posted 15 goals during a 4-0 weekend for the Irish at Washington University in St. Louis to earn April 3 Midwest Division co-Player of the Week honors.
She shares the award with Lauren Treiman (Gr., Salt Lake City, Utah/West) of Washington who recorded 17 goals, eight assists and 13 steals during a 3-1 weekend for the Bears at home in St. Louis.
Shank opened the weekend on Saturday, April 1, by scoring four times versus Grand Valley State University (15-3 W) prior to notching solo markers against both Miami University (16-6 W) and Illinois State University (15-1 W). On Sunday, April 2, she capped off the weekend by racking up five markers in a 15-2 defeat of the host Bears.
The 4-0 mark raised Notre Dame’s regular season record to 8-0 in the Midwest Division as the Irish clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Midwest Division Championship at Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind., on Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16.
