BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Charlotte Newport (Gr., Baytown, Texas/Ross S. Sterling) of No. 6-ranked the University of Texas posted 11 goals, eight assists and two field blocks during a 3-1 weekend for the Longhorns at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, to earn the February 23 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Player of the Week award.

Texas – which clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Texas Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, March 28-29, at Rice University in Houston, Texas, balanced on goal differential versus the host Texas A&M “A” Aggies – completed a 7-1 regular season mark in the division by turning back Texas Tech University (23-5 W), Texas A&M “B” (15-3 W) and Rice (13-3 W) with an 11-10 setback against Texas A&M “A”.

She scored three times versus Texas Tech and twice more facing Texas A&M “A” on Saturday, February 22, prior to pumping in two and four markers in helping upend Texas A&M “B” and Rice, respectively.
