BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Texas’ Magaly Ruiz (Sr., San Antonio, Texas/Brandeis) led the Longhorns in scoring while playing all 112 minutes of competition at Rice University to earn recognition as the March 25 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Player of the Week.

She aided Texas in topping Texas State University (8-7 W), the University of North Texas (17-1 W) and Texas A&M University “A” (6-5 W) to go along with an 11-5 loss to Texas A&M “A”.  She scored the game-winning goal with 41 seconds left in the fourth quarter versus Texas A&M “A” as Texas claimed its inaugural victory over the Aggies since a 6-5 victory at Rice on March 3,2018..

She scored twice in the loss to Texas A&M “A”, added four versus Texas State, three against North Texas and finished with three in the defeat of Texas A&M “A”.

The Longhorns conclude the regular season with a 5-3 record and clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Texas Division Championship at Rice in Houston, Texas, on Saturday-Sunday, April 13-14.
