BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Molly Wilkinson (Jr., Palo Alto, Calif./Gunn) of the University of Texas scored 12 times during a 2-2 weekend for the Longhorns in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Texas Division competition at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, to earn status as the February 26 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Player of the Week.
She helped Texas defeat Texas State University (15-8 W) and Texas A&M “B” (14-2 W) to accompany a pair of setbacks versus No. 12-ranked Texas A&M “A” (10-9 L, 8-5 L).
However, her most important contribution of the weekend came without either a shot, steal or field block – but a save. During the course of a potential scoring play, she noticed an opposing athlete in distress, called timeout and escorted the athlete from the water to place sportsmanship before all else.
