BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zachary DeHaaff (Sr., Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) of the University of Texas contributed 12 goals in three games during a runner-up finish for the Longhorns at the Texas Division Championship hosted by Rice University in Houston, Texas.  For his performance, DeHaaff is recognized as the October 30 Texas Division Player of the Week.

Texas “A” – which entered the championship weekend as the No. 1 seed – opened competition on Saturday, October 28, by downing the Texas A&M University “B” team via a 16-2 score thanks to seven goals from DeHaaff.  He further padded his scoring numbers by putting away a trio of markers in a 7-4 victory over Louisiana State University to cap off the opening day of the championship tournament.

Facing No. 2 seed Baylor University – which joined Texas in posting 8-0 regular season marks – on Sunday, October 29, in the division title game, he accounted for half of the Longhorns’ scoring with a pair of strikes in a 5-4 loss to the Bears.
