BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Anna Alberti (So., Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) of the University of Virginia tallied 14 goals, nine assists, 12 steals and three field blocks to help the Cavaliers outscore their opponents 52-18 and claim the 2022 Women’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Championship. For her performance, Alberti is named the April 11 Women’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Player of the Week.
She helped Virginia top the University of North Carolina (24-8 W), the University of Maryland (16-3 W) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech, 12-6 W) as the team claimed its fourth Atlantic Division Championship (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022) and fifth overall division championship (2003- Mid-Atlantic Division).
Due to the victory, Virginia’s season continues as the division crown punches the program’s ticket to the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship in Huntsville, Alabama, on Friday-Sunday, May 6-8.
