BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Katie Treene (Sr., Ross, Calif./Redwood) and Carolyn Pitorak (Jr., Reading, Pa./Wilson) combined to lead No. 2 seed the University of Virginia to victories over James Madison University (20-3 W), Georgetown University (9-5 W) and top-seed Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech, 12-6 W) to capture the 2023 Women’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Championship.  For their combined performance, Treene and Pitorak share status as the April 24 Atlantic Division Player of the Week.

Pitorak tallied 12 goals, a pair of assists, three steals and a field block in the run to a berth for the Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated for Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at the University of California-Los Angeles.

On the other end of the tank, Treene posted 24 saves, including 11 stops in the title tilt against Virginia Tech.  In addition, she notched her inaugural league goal as she scored on a five-meter shot to factor on both ends of the water.
