BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) announces 406 women’s varsity and collegiate club players earn recognition on the league’s 2023 Women’s Scholar-Athlete Team.
Previously named the All-Academic Team, the program honors student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2023 women’s season.
Overall, 226 (74 varsity, 152 club) athletes were honored with Outstanding (3.71-4.0) recognition, while 134 (75 varsity, 59 club) earned Superior (3.41-3.7) and 46 (24 varsity, 22 club) were recognized with Excellent (3.2-3.4) accolades.
To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.
Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades.
In addition, varsity and collegiate club teams with cumulative GPAs at or above 2.75 were recognized by the conference for overall excellence.
