2023 Wagner College Men’s Water Polo Schedule

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The Wagner College men’s water polo team unveiled its 2023 schedule, a 29-game slate that features three games at the Spiro Sports Center.

For the third straight season, Wagner will begin its campaign at the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University, Wheaton College and Harvard University.  The Seahawks will open the weekend in Cambridge, Mass., on Saturday, September 2, against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and host Harvard before taking on Iona University and Pepperdine University on Sunday, September 3.

The Seahawks will then travel to Princeton, N.J., for a three-day tournament at Princeton University which will take place from Friday-Sunday, September 8  to September 10. The Seahawks will open the weekend against Iona and Long Island University on Friday, September 8, before facing the host Tigers on Saturday, September 9, and the United States Naval Academy on Sunday, September 10.

Following the Princeton Invitational, the Green & White will head to Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., to take part in the Bison Invitational.. At Bucknell, the Seahawks will open Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) play against Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, September 16, before meeting the United States Air Force Academy. On Sunday, September 17, Wagner will take on defending MAWPC Champion Fordham University and Salem University.

Wagner will travel to Pomona, Calif., to participate in the Gary Troyer Tournament on Friday-Saturday, September 29-30.

Three MAWPC contests follow on Wednesday, October 4, and Saturday, October 7, as Wagner faces Fordham in a mid-week game before taking on Mount Saint Mary’s University and Bucknell University at the ARCC Swimming Pool in Emmitsburg, Md.

Wagner will take part in its final regular season tournament on Saturday-Sunday, October 14-15 at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass.. At Harvard, the Seahawks take on Connecticut College and the University of California-Merced on October 14 prior to tangling with the host Crimson and Iona on October 15.

The Green & White host to Mount Saint Mary’s, George Washington University and Bucknell during the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, October 28-29. The Seahawks match up with Mount Saint Mary’s on October 28, before hosting George Washington and Bucknell on October 29.

To wrap up their regular season, Wagner will play complete a swing with the beltway with road games versus George Washington (Friday, November 3), Navy (Saturday, November 4) and Johns Hopkins (Sunday, November 5).

The MAWPC Tournament is slated for Friday-Sunday, November 17-19, at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium.
