BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Mattia Bognolo (Jr., Canberra, Australia/Daramalan College) of Wagner College chipped in nine goals, 10 assists and a pair of field blocks during a 3-1 weekend for the Seahawks at the 2023 Harvard University Invitational in Cambridge, Mass. For his total effort, Bognolo is lauded as the October 16 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Player of the Week.
A two-time weekly honor recipient from the league office following a prior MAWPC Rookie of the Week nod on October 18, 2021, he scored in each of Wagner’s four contests as the squad stopped Connecticut College (21-4 W) and the University of California-Merced (10-7 W) on Saturday, October 14, prior to slipping against the host/No. 18-ranked Crimson and taking care of Iona University (12-11 W).
He posted pairs of markers in the defeats of Connecticut and UC-Merced to accompany a solo strike and four tallies facing Harvard and Iona, respectively.
