BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wagner College’s Djordje Stoiljkovic (Gr., Nis, Serbia/First Grammar School Stevan Sremac/St. Francis College Brooklyn) posted 22 saves and a pair of assists during a 3-1 weekend in Cambridge, Mass., at the 2023 Harvard Invitational hosted by Harvard University.  For his performance, he is commended as the October 16 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

A four-time (2021: November 1, November 8, November 15; 2022: November 21) Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Defensive Player of the Week during his time as the netminder for the St. Fracis College Brooklyn Terriers, the graduate student helped the Seahawks squelch Connecticut College (21-4 W), the University of California-Merced (10-7 W) and Iona University (12-11 W) to accompany a 14-12 loss to the host/No. 18-ranked Crimson of Harvard.

His best performance of the weekend came versus Harvard as Stoiljkovic stopped four penalty shots to keep Wagner in the game and on the cusp of an upset against the nationally-ranked Crimson.
