BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wagner College’s Ethan Zirh (Jr., Sydney, Australia Castle Hill High School) made 34 saves with four steals during a 3-1 weekend at the Bucknell University Invitational to earn recognition as the September 20 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) co-Defensive Player of the Week.

He shares the honor with Luca Castorina (So., Catania, Sicily Liceo Galileo Galilei) of George Washington University who made 21 saves at the Harvard University Mini Invitational.

Zirh made 11 saves with three steals in a 19-13 defeat of Salem University and stopped nine shots with a steal in a 14-12 victory over the host Bison of Bucknell.  Against No. 16-ranked Fordham University in a 15-11 league loss, he turned aside 10 shots.  In addition, he accounted for four saves with two goals against in a 17-5 handling of Mercyhurst University.

The award marks the second Defensive Player of the Week nod bestowed on Zirh as he previously shared recognition on November 4, 2019 with then teammate Lachlan Trabinger.
