BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wagner College’s Ethan Zirh (Jr., Sydney, Australia Castle Hill High School) made 20 saves during a 1-1 weekend at home in Staten Island to earn recognition as the October 11 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

He posted nine saves and a steal in a 20-11 victory over Mount St. Mary’s University to go along with 11 saves in a 12-11 loss to George Washington University.

The junior has started in all 21 games in the net for the Seahawks this season, recording 163 saves and six steals. 

The award marks the fourth Defensive Player of the Week nod bestowed on Zirh as he previously shared recognition on November 4, 2019 with then teammate Lachlan Trabinger and earlier this season on September 20 with Luca Castorina (So., Catania, Sicily Liceo Galileo Galilei) of George Washington University prior to earning outright honors on October 4.
