BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wagner College sophomore Laszlo Strasser (Budapest, Hungary/Scheiber Sándor Primary School and Collage) totaled 10 goals, seven assists, eight drawn exclusions and seven steals in Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool during the 2023 Bruno Classic to earn kudos as the September 4 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.
A two-time Rookie of the Week selection (October 10, October 17) and the MAWPC Rookie of the Year in 2022,he helped lead the team to a 2-2 record.
On Saturday, September 2, he opened the 2023 season by punching in three tallies – including the game-winner with 21 seconds left in regulation – during an 11-10 defeat of Division III No. 6-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He capped off the day by scoring once in a 13-3 setback to the host/No. 18 Crimson of Harvard.
He accounted for pairs of hat-tricks on Sunday, September 3, by finding the back twine three times versus both McKendree University (17-8 W) and No. 8 Pepperdine University (15-7 L).
