LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion University of Southern California Trojans showed why they are the No. 1-ranked team in the country as USC dropped the No. 10 Princeton University Tigers, 12-3, at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Haley Wan registered her sixth straight hat trick. In the Tigers’ seven games on the West Coast, the junior recorded 24 goals. She now has 41 for the season and 133 for her career. Ashleigh Johnson finished with 11 saves in the loss, surpassing the 200-save mark for the season.
USC rattled off the first eight goals of the game before Wan tallied one for the Tigers. The Trojans took a 10-1 lead into halftime. Princeton and USC each collected two goals in the second half.
Maud Megens snagged five goals while six other players scored for the Trojans. USC has now won an NCAA-record 49 consecutive games.
