GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Washington & Jefferson women’s water polo team dropped a pair of matches at Grove City College as the Presidents fell to Wittenberg Universty, 10-8, and the Virginia Military Institute, 17-5.

Facing fellow Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III member Wittenberg, Ryley McClellan (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) led W&J with three goals, three assists, and four steals. Meghan DePrez (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) notched two goals and two assists, while Sydney Neumann (Long Beach, Calif./Millikan), Marcella Gallardo-Russell (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) and Anastacia Didovich (Venice, Fla./Venice) all scored once for the Presidents.

Cecelia Weiss (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) got the start in net and recorded 12 saves.

Against VMI, Laura Anthony (Erie,Pa./Villa Maria Academy) recorded her first collegiate hat trick by scoring three goals. Didovich and Neumann both racked up solo scores for the Red & Black. 

Weiss recorded 10 saves before  Felicia Filippini (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) and Alliey Cunningham (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) came on in relief to each post two saves in their collegiate debuts.
