WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College pounced on Penn State Behrend, 9-7, and the California Institute of Technology 16-7, in a pair of Division III games at home in Henry Natatorium,
Facing the Lions of Penn State Behrend in a non-conference clash to open the day, Paige Adams (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored five goals to lead the W&J offense. Lexie Gartner (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) also notched a multi-score game by putting away one in both the first and third quarters.
Marissa Whitby (Los Angeles, Calif./Eagle Rock) and Macel Reising (Sr., Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) added one goal each to close the W&J scoring.
The Presidents closed out the day by running their running streak to three games by beating Caltech.
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was the offensive leader for W&J, scoring five times. Gartner tallied three goals and Reising and Aliya Abdelhak (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) added two more goals each for the W&J offense.
Kirsten Yatsko (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and Adams rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
