ERIE, Pa. — A trio of Presidents recorded hat tricks to lead the Washington & Jefferson College men’s water polo team to a 15-11 victory over host Penn State Behrend at the Junker Center.
The victory was the second for W&J over Penn State Behrend in as many weekends, as the Red & Black beat the Lions by a 19-8 score in the season opener last weekend at home in Washington at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
Chris Edwards (Bexley, Ohio/St. Charles Prep), Cam Spicer (Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) and Aiden Johnson (Nassau, Bahamas/Windsor) each scored in the first quarter as the score was tied at three-all. Andrew Edwards (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep) tallied a pair of second quarter goals to help W&J take a 7-5 lead into half. Robert Koch (Worcester, Pa./La Salle College) scored a pair of fourth quarter goals to finish off the four-goal victory.
Andrew Edwards, Koch and Spicer each netted hat tricks in the victory to pace the Presidents’ offense. Eight different Presidents scored in the contest.
Goalkeeper Caine Dzusa (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) recorded 15 saves for W&J.
