BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Washington & Jefferson College’s Sean King keeps the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Division III Sports Information Director of the Year plaque in Washington, Pa., for another 12 months as he collects his third consecutive honor by earning accolades for the 2016-17 academic year.

Selected by the CWPA Director of Communications, the SID of the Year award is presented to individuals who “have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.”

The award marks the fifth Women’s Division III SID of the Year award for the Washington & Jefferson Sports Information Office since 2010-11 as previous Sports Information Director and current Director of Athletics Scott McGuinness claimed accolades during the 2010-11 and 2013-14 academic years.

A third-year full-time Sports Information Director at Washington & Jefferson College, King spent the prior three years as the assistant sports information director at his alma mater, Saint Vincent College.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications (public relations and advertising)  from Saint Vincent in 2009.  As an undergraduate student, King also worked in the SVC sports information office.

King obtained a Master’s degree in Sport Management from California University of Pennsylvania in 2011.  While working towards his degree, King was the Vulcans’ sports information graduate assistant.

From 2008-2011, King worked as a production intern/official scorer for the Washington Wild Things.
