BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Washington & Jefferson College head coach Nikola Malezanov and Brown University head coach Felix Mercado will serve as head and assistant coaches, respectively, for the USA Water Polo Men’s Youth National Team at the 2024 PanAm Aquatics U19 Water Polo Championships in El Salvador, San Salvador.
The competition will take place from May 20-26 at the Polideportivo de Ciudad Merliot in El Salvador and will showcase some of the top pipeline athletes in the country.

Malezanov will lead the Men’s Youth National Team with aid from Mercado and fellow assistant Ian Davidson as the squad faces Uruguay, El Salvador and Argentina on May 21-23, respectively, in group play.

The Women’s U19 team also has a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) connection as head coach/Marist College head coach Chris Vidale competed and coached at Iona University. Further, team leader Alyssa Diacono served as head coach at Mount St. Mary’s University.
