BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddie King (So., Cherry Hill, N.J./Merion Mercy Academy) of Washington University in St. Louis posted six goals, an assist and three steals in a 3-0 weekend for the Bears as the team captured the Women’s Collegiate Club Heartland Division crown at Grinnell College’s Russell K. Osgood Pool.  For her performance, King earns recognition as the division’s April 24 Player of the Week.

After posting a hat-trick in a 5-2 defeat of host Grinnell prior to picking up a 5-0 forfeit victory versus Saint Mary’s Universty of Minnesota, King notched another hat-trick as the Bears downed Knox College by a 10-5 score to win the program’s fourth consecutive Heartland Division title.

The win advances Washington to the 2017 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated for Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa.
