BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) “Where Are They Now” series continues with a look at former Washington & Lee University swimming and water polo head coach Page Remillard.

The Director of Aquatics and head coach for both men’s/women’s swimming and water polo at W&L from July 1979-to-July 1997, Remillard came to Lexington, Va., with prior coaching experience following a stint as head coach for both swimming and water polo at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges from July 1975 until joining Washington & Lee.

Remillard departed W&L in 1997 to become Director of Athletics & Chair of Physical Education at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.  Responsible for the administrative leadership of the program, he added swimming and softball to the women’s college’s offerings and helped to create the Great South Athletic Conference in 1999.  A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Softball Rules Committee and an NCAA Southern Region National Student Athlete Advisory Conventions, he also helped in the passage and signing in July 2000 of the Georgia Equity in Sports Act which ensures equality between men’s and women’s sports in the state in accordance with Title IX.

He left Agnes Scot in July 2003 to assist his wife, Susan, in her position as a Principal and later Superintendant of the Gordon County School District.  From August 2003 until June 2013, he worked as a teacher in four different systems, schools, grade levels and positions.  A High School Health and Physical Education, Special Education Science inclusion, Science and United States History teacher during his tenure, he worked with Georgia’s inaugural High School Graduation Coach (HSGC) program resulting in his then school (Trion High School) placing No. 1 in the state for graduation rate (retention of students from their freshman year to matriculation).

He has remained active since leaving the Public Education sector working in the private sector of business.
