BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Villanova University’s men’s club student-athlete and United States Navy Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Kelly Lombard is continuing his education at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
A 2011 graduate of Villanova with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Lombard was active in not only men’s water polo but also club lacrosse (Captain: 2009-2011), the Navy ROTC program, Engineering Student Council and served as President of the Society of Naval Engineers from 2008-to-2010.
Following his matriculation, the former Wildcat served in Naval Special Operations for Explosive Ordinance Disposal. From February 2012-to-February 2016, Lombard served in Afghanistan, the Middle East and East Africa as a Naval Special Operations Supervisor and Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
Pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with concentration in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies and an anticipated completion date in 2020, Lombard was awarded a prestigious Pat Tillman Scholarship in 2018. The Tillman Scholar Program unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self.
