SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Following significant conversation and reflection, Wittenberg University has decided to discontinue its women’s water polo program at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year. All current team members will continue to practice and compete through the sport’s scheduled 2023 winter season.
In a statement, the school noted, “Despite this decision and in light of Wittenberg’s student-centered approach to all we do, we are continuing our search for outstanding program leadership to finish out this season. We are also confident that the friendships formed through the program will last a lifetime, and we are committed to making this final year the best it can be.”
