BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Anaiah Lightner (Fr., West Covina, Calif./St. Lucy’s) of Wittenberg University made her collegiate debut one to remember by reeling off 15 goals with an assist, two steals and 13 drawn exclusions during a Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-West Region weekend at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. For her efforts, Lightner receives recognition as the April 11 CWPA Division III Rookie of the Week.
She accounted for hat-tricks against the host Firebirds (15-8 W) and Division III No. 9-ranked Augustana College (15-11 L) to accompany a pair of markers versus Division III No. 4/defending CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (22-6 L).
Her best game of the weekend came in the weekend finale as she accounted for six goals versus three-time (2017, 2018, 2019) CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College in a 10-9 loss.
