BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Anya Bennett (Fr., Portland, Ore./Lincoln) of Wittenberg University made 22 saves with a steal and a pair of assists in an 11-8 non-conference road victory at Grove City College to earn recognition as the April 8 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
A two-time weekly honor selection by the league office in 2019 after previously taking the March 18 Division III Defensive Player of the Week nod, Bennett helped the Tigers down the CWPA Division III-East Region champion Wolverines in a potential preview showdown of a clash from this weekend’s CWPA Division III Championship at Connecticut College on Friday-Sunday, March 12-14.
