BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Anya Bennett (Fr., Portland, Ore./Lincoln) of Wittenberg University recorded 29 saves and a steal during a 2-1 run at home during the Wittenberg Invitational to earn status as the March 18 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

She helped the first-year varsity Tigers top Washington & Jefferson College (13-8 W) and Penn State Behrend (15-14 W) with a loss to Salem University (16-3 L) to become the inaugural Wittenberg student-athlete to net the Defensive Player of the Week award from the league office.  

Further, she is the second Wittenberg athlete honored by the CWPA as she joins February 25 Division III Rookie of the Week Tatum Bruno (Fr., Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookesfield).
