BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Grace McLaughlin (Fr., Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) of Wittenberg University compiled eight goals during a 1-1 weekend for the Tigers at Grove City College to claim recognition as the March 15 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the Week.
Competing in her inaugural intercollegiate game on Saturday, March 13, at Grove City’s James E Longnecker Competition Pool in Grove City, Pa., McLaughlin scored twice in the second, third and fourth quarters for a team high six goals as the Tigers rolled to a 20-11 league win.
Later in the day, she found the back of the cage in the first and third quarters for a pair of markers as Wittenberg took a 17-6 setback against Division II Mercyhurst University.
