BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Grace McLaughlin (Fr., Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) of Wittenberg University recorded seven goals in helping the Tigers reach the 2021 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship title game at Carthage College’s HARIBO Pool in the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.  For her performance, McLaughlin claims recognition as the April 19 CWPA Division III Rookie of the Week.

The 2021 CWPA Division III Championship Rookie of the Tournament, she opened the weekend championship by scoring four times in a 13-9 defeat of Grove City College on Saturday, April 17, to punch Wittenberg’s ticket to the program’s inaugural CWPA Division III Championship title game appearance.  Facing Division III No. 2-ranked Austin College for the title, McLaughlin scored three times in a 20-6 defeat as the Tigers notched a runner-up finish.

The award marks the fourth Rookie of the Week and fifth overall weekly honor bestowed on McLaughlin in 2021 as she previously earned recognition as the March 15, March 22 and March 29 Rookie of the Week to accompany March 15 Player of the Week status.
