BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wittenberg University’s Savanah Phillips (Sr., San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) netted 10 goals with an assist, two steals and seven ejections drawn during a pair of season-opening losses at McKendree University to garner status as the February 3 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Co-Player of the Week.

Competing on Saturday, February 1, she opened the season for the Tigers by putting away four shots during a 23-8 loss to the host Bearcats.  However, her biggest game came against the women’s collegiate club team of Lindenwood University as she netted six of her team’s nine strikes in a 10-9 overtime loss to the Lions.

The accolade marks the second Player of the Week nod during Phillips’ intercollegiate career as she previously received the April 8 award during the 2019 season.

Phillips shares weekly recognition with Lexi Wong (So., Lantana, Texas/Guyer) of Austin College who posted 12 goals in five games over the weekend for the Division III No. 10-ranked Kangaroos.
