BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wittenberg University’s Savanah Phillips (Sr., San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) racked up 18 goals, three assists, six steals and four ejections drawn during a 3-1 weekend for the Tigers at the Washington & Jefferson College Invitational.  For her performance, she is named the February 24 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.

Facing Gannon University, Grove City College, Penn State Behrend and the host Presidents over the two-day tournament on Saturday-Sunday, February 22-23, she helped Wittenberg run off a trio of victories.

She tallied three goals and three assist in a 26-11 defeat by Gannon prior to posting six goals in a 19-16 win over Grove City.  Phillips concluded the weekend with five goals in a 15-12 victory over W&J before finding the back of the cage four times in a 23-7 dispatching of Penn State Behrend.

The accolade marks the third Player of the Week nod during Phillips’ intercollegiate career as she previously received the April 8 award during the 2019 season prior to earning recognition in 2020 as the February 3 co-Player of the Week.
