BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Willemijn van Deursen (Sr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo) and goalie Brittany Fitzgerald (Gr., Orange Grove, Calif./Sanger) keyed Yale University to a 4-0 weekend at home in Kiphuth Exhibition Pool during the opening weekend of league play to share honors as the March 2 Women’s Collegiate Club North Atlantic Division Player of the Week.

Facing the United States Coast Guard “A” (12-0 W) and “B” (9-6 W) teams along with Tufts University (20-7 W), in addition to claiming a forfeit defeat of Bowdoin College (5-0 W), to open the division season with a 4-0 mark, the duo dominated on both ends of the tank for Yale.

Fitzgerald played in all four quarters of her team’s three league games and posted an assist, a steal and nine saves.

On offense, van Deursen notched five goals, two assists and four steals  as Yale outscored Coast Guard “A’, Tufts and Coast Guard “B” by a 41-13 margin.
