BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Iona College men’s water polo athlete Zach Roper joins the McKendree University staff as men’s and women’s water polo assistant coach/men’s collegiate club head coach.
An Orland Park, Ill. native, and a 2018 graduate from Iona College, Roper was name an All-Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Second Team selection as a senior. He was selected as team Most Valuable Player in 2015 and 2017 while serving as team captain in 2017.
Upon graduation, Roper gained valuable experience playing with the Exeter Water Polo Club of the British National Water Polo League.
Before his career at Iona, Roper starred at Carl Sandburg High School where he was Sectional and Southtown All-Area player of the year. Roper was named All-State as a senior while handling duties as team captain.
