BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 14/April 24 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

The University of California-Los Angeles and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continue at No. 1 in the National Top 25 and Division III Top 10 polls, respectively, while Augustana College and Princeton University retain top billing in the CWPA Division III and Division I Top Five voting.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesdays during the season.

2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 14/April 24)

The University of California-Los Angeles marches on as a unanimous No. 1 selection in the 2024 Week 14/April 24 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

The Top 25 experiences significant changes behind UCLA (100 points) and the University of Hawaii (96 points) which retain the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively.

The University of California (92 points) moves up to No. 3 with Stanford University (88 points) and the University of Southern California (85 points) both sliding one position to No. 4 and 5.  Loyola Marymount University (78 points) hangs on at No. 6 with the University of California-Irvine (77 points) and Long Beach State University (71 points) exchanging the No. 7 and 8 slots.  Fresno State University (70 points) and Arizona State University (64 points) continue at No. 9 and 10 to complete the Top 10 programs.

Princeton University (57 points) takes over at No. 11 with Indiana University (53 points) assuming the No. 12 berth in front of No. 13 the University of Michigan (49 points). 

The University of California-Davis (45 points), the University of California-San Diego (44 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (42 points), California State University-Northridge (34 points), Wagner College (33 points), San Jose State University (32 points), Harvard University (27 points) and University of the Pacific (20 points) rearrange to rate at No. 14-to-21.

Long Island University (19 points), San Diego State University (13 points), Brown University (6 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (6 points) complete the Top 25.

2024 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 14/April 24)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 for another week in the 2024 Week 14/April 24 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

The poll experiences significant changes as Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) and Chapman University (87 points) are the sole teams to retain their ranking from the Week 13/April 17 voting.

California Lutheran University (84 points) moves up to No. 4 with the University of La Verne (80 points) and Augustana College (79 points) both backing up one position to No. 5 and 6.

Austin College (68 points) improves two spots to No. 7, Macalester College (67 points) drops back to No. 8, Whittier College (47 points) rises to No. 9 and Washington & Jefferson College (35 points) cracks the Top 10 to complete this week’s selections.

2024 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 5 (Week 14/April 24)

Defending league champion Princeton University continues at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 14/April 24 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll

Heading into this weekend’s CWPA Championship at Harvard University, the 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023 league champion Tigers (100 points), retain a five point lead over 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion the University of Michigan (95 points). 

2022 and 2023 CWPA Championship runner-up Harvard (90 points), Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (48 points) remain consistent at No. 3-to-5 to complete the Top Five.

2023 and 2024 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College concludes the league season as the top-ranked program in the 2024 Week 14/April 24/Final CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

The Vikings (100 points) lead a Top Five which reflects the results of the 2024 CWPA Division III Championship held over the weekend at Connecticut College.

Augustana, 2021 and 2022 champion Austin College (93 points), 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (92 points), Washington & Jefferson College (85 points) and Connecticut (64 points) comprise the final CWPA Division III Top Five for the 2024 season.
