WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Washington & Jefferson College Department of Athletics hosted its second annual Prezpys Awards during the evening of Sunday, May 5, inside Salvitti Gymnasium to celebrate the 2023-24 athletic year.
The athletic department introduced 19 award winners. Each award category had at least four student-athletes, coaches, or teams nominated.
In the category of Women’s Breakthrough Athlete of the Year, Emma Halle (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegeny) of the women’s water polo team was recognized with the institution’s honor.
A Second Team All-Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Second Team selection and a First Team CWPA Division III Championship All-Tournament First Team honoree, she totaled 66 goals through the conclusion of the regular season and added nine more tallies during CWPA Division III Championship tourametn on Friday-Sunday, April 19-21, at Connecticut College in New London, Conn., for a season total of 75.
Halle scored a season-high seven goals in a home win over Grove City College on March 10 and recorded five goals or more in seven different games this season.
