ERIE, Pa. — Grove City College dropped games to Saint University University, 14-5, and George Washington University, 17-4, to begin the Mercyhurst University Invitational.
Four Wolverines scored against Saint Francis, including a two-goal outing from senior Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington). Junior Maggie Blume (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection), junior Brynna Bartlett (Olive Branch, Miss./St. George’s) and freshman Elizabeth Andrews (Newberg, Ore./Vertias) also scored in the opener.
Andrews also assisted three goals while sophomore Sonni Kiefer (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) tallied one assist. Jank and sophomore Abby Spicher (Erie, Pa./McDowell) each paced the defense with two steals.
In goal, senior Mary Frank (Centreville, Md./Queen Anne’s County) stopped 15 shots.
Andrews and Jank both scored twice against George Washington. Andrews also assisted Jank’s goals while Jank and Bartlett each recorded an assist on Andrews’ scores. Kiefer led the defense with three steals and Andrews had two takeaways. Frank posted four saves in goal.
