2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Florida Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases a revised 2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Florida Division schedule.
Comprised of Florida Atlantic University, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida International University, Florida State University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Florida “A”, the University of Florida “B”, the University of Miami, the University of North Florida and the University of South Florida, the Florida Division will contest its 17th season as part of the CWPA in 2022. In the history of the division, Florida (2002, 2003, 2008, 2011, 2017, 2018, 2019), Florida International (2007, 2009), Miami (2010, 2012, 2013) and Florida State (2014, 2015, 2016, 2021) have combined to claim the previous 16 crowns. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Changes in the schedule occur due to Florida withdrawing from the Saturday-Sunday, October 8-9, weekend at Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., causing the regular season slate to be adjusted to compensate.
Regular season competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, September 24-25, as Florida “A” and “B” in Gainesville, Fla., now hosts 12 games with Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International and Miami. The slate at Central Florida on October 8-9 shrinks from 20-games to 14 contests with every program except Florida “A” and Florida “B”.
The regular season concludes on Saturday-Sunday, October 22-23, at Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., as Florida “A”, Central Florida, North Florida, South Florida travel to take on the Seminoles in a tournament which expands to 12 games.
On Saturday-Sunday, October 29-30, Florida in Gainesville, Fla., will host the 15-game Florida Division Championship with the victor advancing to the 2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 11-13, at a site in the Northwest Division.
