BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zachary Jones of the University of Notre Dame is this week’s featured athlete on the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Student Spotlight series.
A native of Bellaire, Texas, and valedictorian of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory’s 2024 class, Jones is coming off leading the Irish to the 2026 Great Lakes Division Championship as Notre Dame defeated host Grand Valley State University by a 13-8 score at Rockford High School in Rockford, Mich., to cap off a 4-0 division season and punch the program’s ticket to the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship at the Huntsville Aquatics Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on Friday-Sunday, November 6-8.
A 2025 All-Great Lakes First Team selection, Jones discusses his water polo journey, balancing academics and athletics at Notre Dame, the team’s championship-winning season and what it will take to make a deep run at the National Collegiate Club Championship.
