IRVINE, Calif. — Official Hadi Farid, the Honorary Secretary to the PANAM Technical Committee, has been named to the World Aquatics Technical Water Polo Committee. In this new role, much like his position within PANAM Sports, Farid will be called on to help administer sanctioned competitions and work closely with international referees in a variety of areas.
“I am delighted to be appointed to this very prestigious position with the World Aquatics organization on behalf of USA Water Polo. I look forward to continuing to assist our national teams, athletes and referees respectively. The growth of water polo both in the Americas and worldwide continues to be a high priority and something I’m honored to work on as we aim to include more participating federations,” said Farid.
Farid has a busy schedule ahead on the road to the Paris Olympic Games. He’ll be serving in a delegate role at the upcoming U15 Water Polo Championship in Peru followed by the Women’s U20 World Championships in Portugal. From there, Olympic bids will be on the line at both the Asian Games in China and Pan American Games in Chile.
