2023 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club Colonial Division schedule.

Comprised of Amherst College, the University of Connecticut, the University of Massachusetts, Wesleyan University, Williams College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Colonial Division will contest its eighth season in 2023 following victories by Massachusetts (2022), Williams (2015, 2021), Wesleyan (2016), Amherst (2017) and the United States Coast Guard Academy (2018, 2019).  The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The division features two 12-game regular season tournaments in 2023, with Wesleyan in Middletown, Conn.., serving as host on Saturday-Sunday, October 7-8, prior to Williams in Williamstown, Mass., hosting the regular season finale on Saturday-Sunday, October 14-15.

The order of finish from the regular season establishes the Colonial Division’s seeding for the combined Colonial/North Atlantic “A” and “B” Championships slated for Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine, respectively.

The “A” Championship will pit the top three finishers from the North Atlantic Division versus the top three teams from the Colonial Division in a nine-game event to determine an overall champion.  In addition, the top finishing teams in both divisions claim their respective group’s titles.

The “B” Championship pits the No. 4-to-6 seeds from the Colonial Division along with the No. 4 and 5 regular season North Atlantic Division finishers in an eight-game tournament.

The North Atlantic and Colonial Divisions’ top Division III finishers at the “A Championship both earn automatic berths to the 2023 Division III Collegiate Club Championship at a site to be finalized in the upcoming weeks.
