BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Caylah Olay (So., Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) of Saint Francis University racked up 11 goals during a 1-3 weekend for the Red Flash in Lewisburg, Pa., at the 2024 Bucknell Invitational hosted by Bucknell University. For her performance, Olay collects laurels as the February 12 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
A two-time (February 6, March 6) Rookie of the Week selection during the 2023 season, she becomes the first Red Flash player to earn Player of the Week status since Taylor Halbauer on January 31, 2022.
On Saturday, February 10, she opened the weekend by scoring once in a 10-9 loss to Villanova University. Facing the host Bison in a CWPA contest later in the day, she keyed Saint Francis to an 8-7 defeat of Bucknell.
Olay concluded the weekend on Sunday, February 11, by scoring three times versus No. 19-ranked Wagner College (18-8 L) prior to posting four more in a 13-9 loss to Mount St. Mary’s University.
