ERIE, Pa. — The Grove City College water polo team dropped a pair of decisions in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III action at Penn State Behrend. Carthage College slipped past the Wolverines in the opener, 12-7, while Division III No. 6-ranked/defending CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College defeated Grove City in the nightcap at the Junker Center Pool, 17-5.

Six Grove City players scored against Carthage, including a two-goal outing from sophomore Kiley Sill (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne). Senior Clarie Lochstet (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin), junior Kamryn Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids), junior Riley McCullough (Spring, Texas/Oak Ridge), junior Mikayla Zablocki (Kittanning, Pa./Armstrong) and freshman Shastyn Tihansky (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) also scored in the opener.

Kerr recorded six assists, while Sill assisted Kerr’s goal.

Kerr and Lochstet both recorded two steals. Sophomore Lea Steen (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) made five saves in goal.

Tihansky pumped in three goals against Augustana while Lochstet and Sill also scored. Kerr assisted two goals and freshman Carolyn Marks (Milford, Ohio/Milford) added an assist.

Lochstet and Steen each recorded three thefts. Steen had three saves.
