CARLISLE, Pa. — Sophomore Alex Rowland scored three times in the first half to help push Northwest Division Champion the University of Washington out to a 5-2 halftime lead as the Huskies held off Missouri Valley Division Champion the University of Missouri for a 9-6 victory in a late night consolation game on Day One of the 2025 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.
Washington advances to a 2:50 p.m. game on Saturday, November 8, with a spot in the Ninth Place game on Sunday, November 9, at stake. The Huskies will take on the the winner of another consolation game matching Mid-Atlantic Division Champion/No. 15-ranked Pennsylvania State University and Big Ten Division Champion/No. 8 the University of Michigan as the victor of Washington’s next game plays for Ninth Place, while the loser competes for 11th Place.
Missouri falls into the 13th/15th games as the Tigers will face the loser of the Penn State-Michigan game at 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, November 8. Due to time constraints, the 13th and 15th positions are not played out with the winners and losers of the 13th/15th Place games tying for the positions, respectively.
For Washington, Rowland (three) and sophomore Elliot Goldstein (two) tallied multi-goal games with sophomore JT Dugan, freshman Adrien Lerouge, senior Easton Mann and junior Luke Taylor notching solo strikes. In cage, sophomore Deneil Betfarhad turned aside seven shots in picking up the victory.
Across the tank, Danny McAuliffe (four), Trent Batten and Calvin Windle combined for Missouri’s six goals in support of a combined eight save performance with four each by goalkeepers Max Ptasiewicz and Matt McKean.
