BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Wagner College’s Ana Magaña Campos claims recognition as the 2025-26 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Sports Information Director of the Year.
Selected by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Director of Communications, the SID of the Year award is presented to individuals who “have achieved notable excellence in the field of water polo communications during the past academic year.”
She is the inaugural Wagner SID to earn the honor and follows Fordham Universty’s Scott Kwiatowski (2025, 2023, 2022-East), the United States Naval Academy’s Chris Whitehead (2024, 2021-East, 2019-East), Bucknell University’s Cole Cloonan (2020-East), George Washington University’s Eric Detwiler (2018-East) and Justin Moore (2017-East) along with Gannon University’s Bob Shreve (2022-West), David Rung (2021-West), Kayla Peterson (2020-West), Josh Hill (2019-West), Levi Rex (2018-West, 2017-Westt) and Dan Teliski (2017-West) to earn an MAWPC Sports Information honor since the split of Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) men’s competition into the MAWPC and Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) during the Summer of 2016.
Magaña joined the Wagner Athletics Media Relations department in July 2025 as a Media Relations Graduate Assistant. She serves as the primary contact for women’s soccer, men’s and women’s water polo and men’s and women’s golf.
Prior to her arrival on Grymes Hill, Magaña served as one of the main Graphic Designers for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletics in the Marketing and Creative Department. She was in charge of taking pictures for some sports as well as creating graphics to post on social media. While in Madison, Magaña graduated in May 2025 with a bachelor’s dual degree in Graphic Design and Communication.
During her time as a Badger, Magaña worked as the social media assistant for the Wisconsin Sports Business Conference providing coverage and content. She was also recruited to be an international student-athlete on the rowing team. As a native from Sevilla, Spain, she was a high-level athlete for the Spanish National Team, competing internationally in European Championships.
While at Wagner, Ana is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) alongside her responsibilities in the Media Relations department. Outside of athletics, she is passionate about art and spends her free time painting and exploring museums.”
